Building Community Through Social Capital

Presented by Al Condeluci, Ph.D.

Fredericton Inn     March 3rd, 2017    |   9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
English Session – Séance en anglais

Regardless of how old you are or where you live, more than likely your ultimate goal in life is to be happy, secure and successful. In fact, the biggest fear many individuals and families have is that they or their loved one might be lonely or at serious risk when those close to them are gone. Although none of us can predict the future, we can look at ways to better prepare ourselves by understanding the impact of friendships in our lives – our social capital.

This informative session will help you think about how friendships can be better developed over time, and, in turn, build a more inclusive community. Learn about understanding difference, disability and aging. Find out how fostering interdependence contributes to independence and understand the main elements of social capital. Participants will also explore the key steps to developing friendships.
