Supports: Kindergarten to Grade 12
As Manager of Inclusive Education, Sherry works with teachers, parents, and students to ensure that all children, including children with an intellectual disability are participating fully in every aspect of school life. She does this by: providing school-based training with educators and educational assistants; facilitating Creating and Inclusive School with schools throughout New Brunswick; developing resources on Inclusive Education for educators and educational assistants; facilitating family retreats on Inclusive Education; supporting parents who have a child with a disability; and providing PATH (Planning Alternative Tomorrows for Hope)Train the Trainer and facilitation. She manages the Community Inclusion Initiative project and also provides support to CCNBs and develops planning for students who will be attending community college.
Sherry graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a Science in Kinesiology degree in 2011 and with an Education degree from St. Thomas University in 2012. After teaching for a year in the Anglophone West School District, Sherry joined the team at NBACL in 2014.
