Supports: Employers, Post-Secondary Education, Transition to Life After High School
As Transition Facilitator, Wendy assists high school youth with an intellectual disability to make successful transitions from high school to adult life, and from school to work transitions. She helps to bridge the gap and help to build a network of support for the students.
As a registered Social Worker, Wendy has gained experience and knowledge in a variety of fields by being a counselor, educator, group and workshop facilitator and community development officer. Certified in Choice Theory, Reality Therapy and Lead Management, Wendy has also been very involved in the development of various educational tools and training manuals. She provided her community with information on various topics touching mental health and healthy relationships by giving interviews on the local radio station. Wendy is a strong believer in inclusion and equality and is more than excited to be able to contribute to creating inclusive communities with NBACL.
