“The world is hugged by the faithful arms of volunteers.” Terri Guillemets
NBACL values and appreciates the many, many ways that our volunteers help us every day. There are many valued volunteers who work regularly to support NBACL. Some of you are members of our Board, or sit on one of our committees. Some of you offer one-on-one support to the people we work with, while others help with clothing drives, special events, and around the office. Some of you are self-advocates. While you come in all shapes and sizes and from many diverse backgrounds, the one thing we can say about all of you is that we value you greatly and thank you profusely – each and every one!
If you’ve been thinking about volunteering with us, we welcome you with open arms! We are always looking for people who would like to do one on one support as social mentors (gym buddies, a companion for coffee, games etc., someone to help a person with an intellectual disability to participate in his community and build friendships, etc.). Check out nbacl.nb.ca/volunteer-openings.
As part of national volunteer week, we are celebrating our dedicated volunteers! in celebration, we are doing shout outs to our valued volunteers all week long! If you or someone you know is a volunteer in the community living movement, let us know! Please contact Elizabeth McArthur, Communication Coordinator, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling toll free 1-866-622-2548 ext 2205.
