The annual Elimination Draw was presented by NBACL and FSI. With each year that passes, the Elimination Draw continues to grow, and so do the prizes.

“We knew we had to bring this fundraiser back for another year,” said Jason Carr, NBACL’s Director of Strategic Initiatives.  “It’s always been a very successful event and raises much needed funds for both NBACL and FSI. We were thrilled to have many local businesses step up to the plate and get involved for this year’s draw. This year’s top prize was an Artic Cat Alterra 500 4×4 ATV from MacLeans Sports in Fredericton, but there was also more than 40 other prizes donated by local businesses, each with a value of at least $50.”

The NBACL Elimination Draw works a bit differently than some of the draws that people may be used to, Carr explained, mainly that there is no need to be present to win. As long as you have a ticket, you’re eligible to win a prize. If your ticket was drawn, someone from NBACL will have contacted you to arrange for pickup of your prize.

The format of the draw is as follows: first ticket drawn wins a prize, followed by the 20th ticket drawn thereafter until all the tickets have been drawn.  The final ticket drawn is for the grand prize, and with only 700 tickets sold in total, the odds of winning were pretty good.

“While we don’t require you to be in attendance to win, a lot of people made the Elimination Draw into a social event and came out for the afternoon with friends and family,” Carr said. “Last year we held the draw at Houlie’s Hometown Pub in Fredericton and everyone had a great time, so we brought it back to Houlie’s again this year”

The Elimination was held on Saturday, October 13 at Houlie’s Hometown Pub, 336 Greenwood Drive, on Fredericton’s North side.
