“A Time of Change” Workshop

A Workshop for Parents Supporting an Adult Son or Daughter with a Disability

This free workshop is to provide information to parent/caregivers who have an adult son or daughter with a disability on planning for the future. This workshop is also open to community members, groups and professionals interested in this topic.

Topics to be addressed include:

  • Getting the Help You Need While Your Son or Daughter is Living at Home
  • Planning for Emergencies
  • Planning for the Future: Financial and Estate Planning
  • Planning for a Future Home and Support For Your Son or Daughter
  • Involving Your Community: Networks of support
  • Dealing with Life Transitions

This workshop will be presented by Elizabeth Kearns. Elizabeth has worked with NBACL for five years as both a Social Inclusion Facilitator and most recently as Manager of the provincial Family Support program. Elizabeth is also a sister of an adult sibling with a disability.

There is no cost to attend the session. If you are able to join us, please RSVP for planning purposes by February 10, 2015.
Lunch will be served. Please notify us if you have any allergies or dietary concerns.
