The New Brunswick Association for Community Living (NBACL) is marking this Global Day of Parents as a time to express gratitude to the parents who have a family member with a disability and are making sure they live the lives they deserve. Parents have a critical role in the structure of a family, and devote themselves to a position that lasts a lifetime.
This marks the 7th anniversary of the UN’s Global Day of Parents. It is important to remember why it was originally marked by the UN: Parents have one of the toughest jobs in the world, and deserve to be acknowledged daily for their selfless commitment to their children.
While it’s an experience many can relate to, parenthood isn’t always easy. Let’s give parents worldwide a great big “thanks!” for all of their hard work and making sure that their children get the upbringing they need!
