The annual New Brunswick Association for Community Living (NBACL) “Give a Sh!rt” campaign launches today!
The average person throws away roughly 81 pounds of textiles annually, and nearly 95% of disposed items that end up in landfills could be reused.
That’s where we come in! NBACL is one of two New Brunswick charities to partner with Value Village in this ‘recycling’ project. NBACL wholesales reusable clothing and small household items to Value Village and the funds generated support the work of the NBACL.
There are over 20,000 people who have an intellectual or developmental disability in NB. Most live in poverty and social isolation due to a lack of support and employment opportunities. NBACL is a non-profit organization that works to support children and adults in this province who have an intellectual disability, and their families, so that they’re able to live, learn, work and actively participate in their communities as valued and contributing citizens.
When you “Give a Sh!rt,” and other clothing items, to NBACL you’re helping us generate the funds we need to help #EndExclusion for 10, 000 New Brunswickers!
Gather up you unused clothing and small household items and join the cause by dropping them off at any of our Big Orange Bins (BOB) located around the province or to schedule a free home pickup by calling us toll-free at 1-866-NBACL-4-U (1-866-622-2548).
Each year, our Community Collection Program keeps roughly 3,000,000 pounds of clothing and small household items out of landfills! You are helping to significantly reduce your footprint when you “Give a Sh!rt” for NBACL.
Our Community Collection Program helps New Brunswickers with an intellectual or developmental disability to receive the supports they need to be included in their community and have an ordinary life, just like you.
