A Saint John family is looking for outgoing, compassionate, energetic, patient, and reliable adults to provide weekend respite in their home for a young adult male with multiple disabilities.
Candidates should possess, or be in the process of obtaining one the following accreditations:
• Home Support Worker
• Health Care Aid
• Human Service Worker
• Nursing Assistant
• Special Care Home Worker
Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:
• Assistance with personal care (family will provide training);
• Assisting with meals and daily interests/tasks; and
• Cooking and Cleaning
Other Qualifications/Requirements:
• Valid criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
• Social Development background check
• Valid First-Aid and CPR training
• Non-smoker
• Candidate must be reliable

Decisions about the hiring of respite workers rest with the individual requiring support and/or their family. If you are selected, you will not be an employee of NBACL or the Department of Social Development. In your role of respite worker you will be considered self-employed and will be responsible for making any remittances (e.g., income tax, CPP premiums) required by law.***
