Have you recently de-cluttered your closets and tidied up, ridding your home of items that no longer spark joy? Not sure what to do with the unwanted items that you’ve collected?
The New Brunswick Association for Community Living (NBACL) can help! NBACL’s Community Collection Program collects a wide variety of textile items, including clothing and clothing accessories, shoes, bedding and other linens, along with small household items like toasters, toys, books, jewelry, and tools.
The Collection program conducts free home pick-ups throughout the Fredericton, Moncton, and Saint John regions.
Once collected, all donations are sold to the Value Village stores in these three regions. This partnership is invaluable to NBACL, providing the organization with a predictable and important revenue stream to ensure that essential programs can continue to operate. The support offered through these programs helps to make a significant and positive impact on the lives of people with an intellectual or developmental disability and their families throughout New Brunswick.
During the winter months, donations tend to decrease, reducing our supply to sell to stores. NBACL is currently in great need of donations to maintain the much-needed revenue generated by our partnership with Value Village. Those items that no longer spark joy for you are just what we need!
When you donate your clothing and household items to NBACL, you’re not only helping the Association achieve its mission of ending exclusion in New Brunswick; you are also helping the environment.
The Community Collection Program is helping New Brunswickers do their part to help the environment by re-purposing their unwanted items. Last year alone, the program collected nearly 3 million pounds of clothing across the province.
