Supports: Community Participation, Social Inclusion
As Supported Living and Community Facilitator, Maren works with adults experiencing intellectual and developmental disabilities to access inclusive opportunities in the community, identify goals, and support individuals’ life visions. In her facilitation practice, she supports the power that lies within the person by providing information, guidance, establishing a personal support network, community connections, networking development opportunities, and supported living arrangements. Maren’s work is underpinned by person-centered thinking and the simple notion that people should provide the direction for their own lives.
Maren Studied Socio-Cultural Anthropology at the University of Regina with a specific interest in Critical Disability Theory. Prior to working as a facilitator, she worked as a Personal Support Worker for people of all ages experiencing disabilities.
