Supports: Community Participation, Social Inclusion
As Community Animator for NBACL, Marie-Hélène works with adults with an intellectual disability, cooperatively with their families and friends to develop opportunities for social inclusion within their community. Marie-Hélène’s role is to help individuals identify their life goals, developing and maintaining personal support networks, facilitating connections to community and developing partnerships with community organizations to promote inclusive practices.
Marie-Hélène has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology as well as a Master’s degree in Health Services Management. Prior to joining NABCL, she worked in several community organizations working with people to foster their empowerment, increase their sense of belonging in the community and better their quality of life. She is also a part time professor at the University of Moncton and a volunteer member of the Activities Center Le Lien’s board of directors.
